One night the Lord spoke to Paul in a vision: “Do not be afraid; keep on speaking, do not be silent. – Acts 18:9
Have you ever felt the sting of rejection or the weight of fear because of your faith? You’re not alone. Paul, one of the greatest servants of God, faced the same struggles. Yet in the middle of fear and opposition, God gave him a vision and a word of encouragement that still speaks to us today: do not be afraid, and keep on speaking.
God’s Comfort in Our Fear
Paul had been insulted, attacked, and even stoned for preaching the gospel. Though his faith was strong, he still battled fear and apprehension. That is when God spoke reassurance into his heart, reminding him that His presence was near. We, too, need that same encouragement. When we are mocked, misunderstood, or even threatened for following Jesus, the Lord tells us not to be afraid. Our courage is not found in ourselves but in the promises of God, who never leaves or abandons us.
Keep on Speaking the Truth
God’s instruction to Paul was clear: keep on speaking. The Holy Spirit equips us with the right words and the right timing as we share the good news of Jesus. We are not called to hide our faith or shrink back, but to stand boldly as God’s children, declaring His love and salvation. When we trust Him, He fills our mouths with truth and our hearts with confidence.
Overflowing with Joy and Praise
The joy of knowing Christ naturally overflows into words of praise and testimony. God’s goodness is too great to keep to ourselves. His love and deliverance stir us to speak with boldness, not whispers. Like Paul, we are called to let the message of Jesus bubble over in our lives, declaring to the world that God is good and His grace is for all.
