Truly, truly, I tell you, whoever hears My word and believes Him who sent Me has eternal life and will not come under judgment. Indeed, he has crossed over from death to life. – John 5:24
What would it have been like to hear the voice of Jesus? Imagine listening as the Son of God said, “truly, truly.” Those words carried eternal weight, offering life and forgiveness to all who believed.
The Power of His Words
When Jesus spoke, He wanted people to understand that what He was saying was not only true but vitally important. He declared that if anyone would listen and believe that He was sent from God, they would have eternal life. Simple faith in Him was all that was required. Eternal life and complete forgiveness were freely given through belief in His name.
From Death to Life
Jesus explained that those who believe pass from death into life. There is nothing partial or incomplete about this transformation. We are not “partly” forgiven or “somewhat” alive. We were once dead in sin, but through faith in Christ we are made fully alive, renewed, and restored. This truth is as life-changing today as it was when He first spoke it.
Hearing His Voice Today
Although we were not there to hear His voice in person, His words remain just as powerful and true. In the pages of Scripture, we still hear Him saying, “believe, and you will be forgiven and have eternal life.” The same invitation that touched hearts long ago reaches us today, calling us to trust, to believe, and to live in the joy of His salvation.
