Now we have this treasure in jars of clay to show that this surpassingly great power is from God and not from us. – 2 Corinthians 4:7
Plain. Frail. Made of clay. Unremarkable. That is how Scripture describes us apart from Christ. We were sinners, dusty and broken, nothing more than fragile pottery. On our own, there was nothing special about us. But then something incredible happened. The glorious presence of God touched us, filled us with His Spirit, and transformed who we are.
God’s Love Changes Everything
Through Jesus, we discover our true identity. We are beloved children of God, created with intention and designed for a unique purpose. No longer ordinary, we now carry the splendor of heaven within us. His majesty shines through our weakness, and His forgiveness washes away our past.
Jars of Clay Filled With Glory
The apostle Paul reminds us that we are jars of clay, simple vessels holding a treasure far greater than ourselves. The immense glory of God now resides within us, not to magnify our own worth, but to display His power and love to the world. What was once plain and fragile is now radiant with eternal significance.
Living as God’s Vessels
Every believer carries this treasure. Our calling is to let His light shine through our cracks and weaknesses so that others may see His goodness. God delights in using ordinary people for extraordinary purposes. In Him, we are more than clay—we are vessels of His glory.
