I want to know Christ and the power of His resurrection and the fellowship of His sufferings, being conformed to Him in His death – Philippians 3:10

How passionately do you want to know Jesus, and what does it really mean to pursue Him with your whole heart? To know Christ is not about striving harder or proving ourselves worthy. It is about responding to a love so deep and sacrificial that it transforms us from the inside out. Like sheep who recognize the voice of their shepherd, we are invited into a relationship marked by trust, closeness, and growing devotion.

What does it mean to truly know Christ?

When Paul writes about knowing Christ, he is speaking of something far deeper than intellectual understanding. This kind of knowing is personal, relational, and life-changing. It involves walking closely with Jesus, experiencing His presence, and being shaped by His character.

To know Christ is to encounter both the power of His resurrection and the fellowship of His sufferings. It means recognizing His victory over sin and death while also embracing a life that reflects His humility and surrender. This is not a distant or abstract faith. It is an intimate journey of becoming more like Him each day.

Do we have to earn God’s love?

One of the most freeing truths of the gospel is that we do not have to earn God’s love. Jesus does not call us to perform or strive in order to gain His approval. His grace is already given, freely and fully, through His sacrifice.

We cannot achieve righteousness on our own. No amount of effort, discipline, or good works could ever make us worthy of His presence. Yet, in His mercy, He draws near to us anyway. Like a faithful shepherd caring for His sheep, He meets us in our need and invites us to rest in His love.

How should our love for Jesus be expressed?

Our love for Christ is meant to flow naturally from a transformed heart. When we truly understand what He has done for us, our response becomes one of gratitude rather than obligation. We give, serve, and even endure hardship not to impress Him, but because we love Him.

This kind of love is sincere and rooted in humility. It does not seek recognition or reward. Instead, it reflects a heart that has been touched by grace and desires to walk closely with the One who gave everything.

Why do we follow Jesus if we are already saved?

We pursue Jesus not to secure our salvation, but because He has already secured it for us. Our relationship with Him begins with grace and continues through grace. Every step we take toward Him is a response to what He has already done.

As we grow in our understanding of His love, our desire to know Him deepens. We begin to long for His presence, to seek His will, and to reflect His life. This is the beauty of the Christian walk. It is not about earning a place with God, but about walking closely with Him, guided by His love and shaped by His truth.

To know Christ is the greatest pursuit of all. It is a journey marked by grace, sustained by love, and fulfilled in His presence.
