Now it pleased the Lord that Solomon had made this request. – 1 Kings 3:10
One of the greatest blessings of finding forgiveness through trusting Jesus is entering into a restored relationship with our heavenly Father. We are no longer strangers but children who belong to His family. With this new identity, we no longer need to worry about God being upset or distant. Instead, we come to understand that God’s heart is filled with love for us. Through His grace we are reborn and welcomed into the life we were always meant to live.
God’s Love and Grace for His Children
Our Father knows everything about us, including our weaknesses and faults, and yet He still embraces us. His grace moves us from being helpless and unable to please Him because of sin into a joyful place of acceptance and belonging. This is the beauty of His forgiveness.
The Joy of Pleasing God
God is not waiting to trip us up or trap us in our failures. Instead, He delights in us and in the things we do when we walk with Him. We bring Him joy when we pray, when we show kindness to others, and when we choose unselfishness in what we ask or desire.
Living to Please the Lord
As we grow in faith, we naturally begin to ask, “Does this please my Lord?” The answer is simple: we please Him most when we love Him and trust Him with all our hearts. Living in that love brings both peace to us and joy to our Father in heaven.
