For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. – John 3:16
Forever and eternal are words that stretch far beyond our normal way of thinking. Most of us live day to day, setting goals measured in weeks, months, or years. Eternity feels almost impossible to grasp. The truth is that our earthly lives do not last forever. All that we build, accomplish, and even the people we hold dearest will one day be gone. At least, that is how it seems.
The Reality of Death and Sin
Death exists because evil entered God’s creation and our human nature was corrupted by sin. What looks like the final end is actually the result of a broken world. But God did not leave us without hope. He tells us clearly that we do not have to remain under the power of death.
The Hope We Have in Jesus
Jesus Christ changed everything. He willingly gave His life, and then He overcame death itself. His sacrifice paid the price for sin, and His resurrection is the undeniable proof that redemption is real. What once was final has been transformed into a doorway to life.
Eternal Life Through God’s Love
Because of Jesus, we are forgiven. Death has been turned into life, not just for a moment, but for eternity. God has done all this because He loves us with a love that has no limits. His plans for creation are far beyond our understanding, but His desire for us is certain. He longs for us to be with Him always, living in His presence and experiencing His endless love.
Forever and eternal are not just lofty words. They are God’s promise, given to us through Jesus Christ, and they are the hope we hold onto today.
