He will shelter you with his wings; you will find safety under his wings. His faithfulness is like a shield or a protective wall. – Psalm 91:4

What Makes You Feel Safe?

You might rely on a wall or fence, secure locks, or even a personal defense item. Some people invest in home security systems, hire bodyguards, or live in homes built to withstand floods, fires, and earthquakes. Others might go as far as building a bomb shelter or installing a panic room.

The Desire for Safety

Every person wants to feel protected from danger or harm. Some believe safety comes from trying to please God, hoping to avoid punishment or misfortune. But God’s protection does not depend on our efforts or attempts to appease Him. He protects us because we are His children.

God’s Loving Protection

Our heavenly Father is faithful and loving. He offers shelter with His wings, a metaphor that conveys tender and intentional care. This protection is not passive. It actively shields us from harm, even though threats and challenges may still come.

Surrounded by Potential Harm

Every day brings potential risks. We might face emotional wounds like hurtful words or serious dangers like war and disease. From something as small as a slippery sidewalk to something as devastating as a traumatic memory, threats are real and constant.

Trusting God’s Shield

In all circumstances, we need the protection that only God can give. Through humble faith, we can be confident that He is present. He is like a strong shield and a sturdy wall. His powerful and gentle arms surround us, covering us in every situation.

Under His Wings

God is our shelter. We live under the care of His wings, safe in His presence. Trusting in His faithful love is the foundation of true security.
