Don’t get weary in doing good, because at the right time we will reap a harvest if we don’t give up. – Galatians 6:9
Have you ever felt like giving up because your efforts seem unseen or unappreciated? Galatians 6:9 gently reminds us that even when we feel exhausted or discouraged, our labor in doing good is never wasted in God’s eyes. He sees, He knows, and He promises a harvest in His perfect timing.
Why Do We Grow Weary in Doing Good?
All of us experience moments of deep weariness. While physical exhaustion comes from long days and lack of rest, spiritual fatigue often runs deeper. It can come from discouragement when results are slow, from criticism that wounds the heart, or from witnessing the brokenness and injustice in the world around us.
It is easy to become drained when we focus on outcomes rather than obedience. When we chase recognition, success, or quick results, our strength fades. But Scripture redirects our focus. God calls us not to chase temporary rewards, but to remain faithful in doing good, trusting Him with the outcome.
God Strengthens Us When We Feel Weak!
God never asks us to rely on our own strength alone. In our weakest moments, His Spirit sustains us. When we feel like we cannot continue, He provides the endurance we need for the next step.
His strength is not always loud or dramatic. Often it is quiet and steady, carrying us through another day, another act of kindness, another faithful decision. His presence within us empowers us to keep going, even when our energy is gone.
What Does It Mean to Trust God’s Timing?
Galatians 6:9 reminds us that there is a harvest coming, but it arrives in God’s timing, not ours. This requires patience and faith. We may not immediately see the fruit of our efforts, but that does not mean nothing is happening.
God is always at work behind the scenes. His plans unfold with purpose and precision. When we trust His timing, we are freed from frustration and can rest in the assurance that He is bringing about something good.
His love speaks louder than doubt. His forgiveness heals the wounds we carry. Even when the world feels heavy, His promises remain steady and true.
How Can We Keep Going Without Giving Up?
Endurance in the Christian life is rooted in hope. We keep going because we know our future is secure in Christ. Eternal life is not just a distant promise. It is a present reality that shapes how we live each day.
God provides both strength and rest. He calls us to persevere, but He also invites us to come to Him for renewal. In Him, we find peace for our weary hearts and courage to continue doing good.
So do not give up. God’s peace is available to you today. His Spirit is at work within you. Jesus offers rest for your soul. Keep doing good, knowing that your labor matters and your reward is eternal.
