Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me, your rod and your staff they comfort me. – Psalm 23:4
Are you afraid?
Fear can be powerful, and it often stands in the way of our faith. When our attention is fixed on the troubles around us, doubts rise and trust fades. We see only the worst possibilities instead of remembering God’s promises.
God’s Promise in the Face of Fear
Throughout Scripture, God tells us not to be afraid. We are not to fear evil, calamity, pain, temptation, or even the actions of others. The reason is simple: He is always with us. His presence is not distant or weak but powerful and constant. No matter what comes, God walks with His people.
Faith Instead of Fear
Life will lead us through difficult circumstances, and even through the valley of death. Our natural reaction may be worry, fear, or the urge to fight through on our own. But faith calls us to a different response. Instead of relying on our strength, we trust in our Shepherd. Jesus goes before us, leading us step by step with love and care.
Keeping Our Eyes on Jesus
No matter how dark the path may seem, Jesus is with us. He calls us to hold on to Him, to fix our eyes on Him, and to listen to His voice. When we stop focusing on the darkness and instead look to the light of Christ, our fear begins to fade. The way to overcome fear is not through our own strength, but through faith in the One who never leaves us. With Jesus leading, we can walk in peace and courage.
