When pride comes, shame follows, but with humility comes wisdom. – Proverbs 11:2
Have you ever thought about what you can create compared to God? We cannot form a galaxy, invent a quark, or speak a new color into existence. Yet God has done all of that and more. When we consider His power and love, we find ourselves humbled in the best possible way.
The Greatness of God’s Love
God’s love is beyond measure. Though He holds the universe in His hands, He looks at us with affection and calls us His children. We are so valuable to Him that He was willing to give His life for us. Through His forgiveness, He lifts us into His presence and promises us an eternity of joy. These are blessings we could never earn, yet they are freely given because of His grace.
Humility That Brings Joy
When we recognize that everything we have is a gift from God, true humility grows in our hearts. It is not a humility of shame or self-condemnation, but a humility that rejoices in God’s kindness. Pride leads us into humiliation, but humility allows us to rest in His love. Accepting that love changes how we see ourselves and how we respond to Him each day.
Living in the Freedom of His Grace
God does not ask us to put ourselves down or live in shame. Instead, He calls us to live in freedom, knowing that we are deeply loved. This kind of humility is not weakness, but wisdom. It is the joy of being cared for by the Creator of the universe, and the peace that comes when our hearts are turned fully toward Him. In His love, we find the truest form of humility and the greatest reason to rejoice.
