I am a sacred space

Do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own; you were bought at a price. Therefore honor God with your bodies.- 1 Corinthians 6:19-20 Do you know that you are God’s house? It is mystical and miraculous, but you are a sacred space. The Holy Spirit lives in you! The Bible tells us that God is spirit, it speaks of the spiritual life we are called to live, spiritual battles we will encounter, and the working of the Holy Spirit. God joins them all together here. He says the Holy Spirit is in us. This is not symbol or metaphor. However, it is mystery. How God Himself can dwell within us is beyond our ability to fully comprehend. But He does, and because of that the way we live and walk through the physical world in our physical bodies is important. God is giving a very practical and down-to-earth command. We are to honor and glorify Him with our bodies. Our actual bodies! Although the things that are in our hearts, minds and motives are exceptionally consequential, where we physically go and what we physically do has a special importance. Our body is the house, the sanctuary, the temple of the Holy Sprit. Wherever we are, whatever we do, He is there within us. Let us always try to honor His presence, and please Him with our comings and goings. We are a sacred space!
