He has saved us and called us to a holy life, not because of anything we have done but because of his own purpose and grace. This grace was given us in Christ Jesus before the beginning of time. – 2 Timothy 1:9
Have you ever thought about the fact that God isn’t just everywhere, but also every-when? We often speak of God’s presence as being in all places, but He also exists in every moment. Before time began, He was already there—creating, planning, and loving.
God Beyond Time and Space
It’s hard for our human minds to imagine, but God is not limited by time or space. He created both, and He fills them completely. From the beginning of creation to its end and every instant in between, God is present. He is outside of time yet intimately involved within it. This truth reveals the depth of His power and majesty.
While it may be impossible to fully comprehend, the mystery of God’s eternal nature invites us to worship. He is not a distant observer; He is the designer and sustainer of all things. Every sunrise, every heartbeat, and every breath is held together by His will.
Grace Before the Beginning
What makes this even more incredible is that before the world was formed, God had already planned our redemption. His grace was not an afterthought or a reaction—it was His purpose from the very beginning. The plan of salvation through Jesus Christ existed before time itself.
God’s love and grace were set in motion long before we ever took our first breath. That means our salvation has nothing to do with our good deeds or human effort. It is entirely rooted in His eternal purpose and unchanging love.
Living a Holy Life Through His Grace
Because of this amazing grace, we are called to live a holy life. Holiness doesn’t mean perfection; it means being set apart for God’s purpose. Through Christ, we are empowered to live differently—to reflect His love, His truth, and His goodness in the world.
Even though we may not fully understand the vastness of God’s power, we can rest in His promise. From before time began, He knew you. He loved you. And He gave you a purpose shaped by His grace.
God’s story stretches beyond eternity, and by His mercy, we are part of it.
