We all, like sheep, have gone astray, each of us has turned to his own way; and the Lord has laid on him the iniquity of us all. – Isaiah 53:6
All of us have strayed from the path God intends for us. Whether we’ve wandered far or only slightly veered off course, the truth is the same—we are no longer on the path. It’s not a matter of how near or far we are. If we are even one millimeter off, we are still off the path. God wants us to understand that we have all gone our own way, and we are all equally in need of being found.
No One Is Beyond the Reach of Grace
It doesn’t matter if we think we are mostly good or deeply broken. God sees us all the same: lost without Him. One small sin is enough to separate us from His presence, just as much as a life filled with wrongdoing. His grace reaches with equal power to those close to the truth and those far from it. We are all in equal need of God’s forgiveness.
God’s Standards Are Not Measured by Comparison
Sometimes we feel like we are too far gone for God to love us. Other times, we may believe we’re almost good enough. But the standard isn’t about being better than others—it’s about being in right relationship with God. Even our best efforts and righteous acts are not enough without Jesus. Sin, no matter how small or large, separates us from a holy God.
Jesus Took All Our Sin on Himself
The good news is that Jesus took the penalty for all of our sin. He bore the weight of everyone’s wrongs—those we see as small and those we see as great. God’s grace is vast enough to forgive anyone who turns to Him. We might struggle with the idea that God forgives those who have done terrible things, but His grace doesn’t operate on human fairness. It operates on divine mercy.
God’s Love Is for Everyone
Instead of wondering why God would forgive someone else, the better question is: why would He forgive me? The answer lies in His love. God’s greatest desire is to make you His child. His love is personal, and He invites each of us into a relationship with Him, regardless of our past.
Eternal Life Is a Gift Through Faith
Jesus said that whoever believes in Him will not perish but have eternal life. Whether our sins seem small or overwhelming, we are all in need of His forgiveness. Through His death and resurrection, Jesus paid the price for every sin. The gift of eternal life is offered freely to those who believe. It’s not about how far we’ve strayed—it’s about turning back to Him in faith.
