Jesus replied: Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. – Matthew 22:37
How much love do we really give to God? The truth is, He asks for all of it—every bit of who we are. We’re called to love Him not in part, but in full: heart, soul, and mind. Loving God isn’t something we schedule or measure; it’s a relationship that involves our entire being, all the time.
Love the Lord with All Your Heart
Our hearts are the center of our emotions and desires. To love God with all our heart means letting Him shape what we care about most. It’s choosing to give Him first place, even when life pulls our affections in many directions. Loving Him fully transforms how we love others and how we live each day.
Love the Lord with All Your Soul
Your soul is the breath of life within you—your very essence. Loving God with your soul means surrendering your whole self to Him. It’s worship that goes beyond words or songs; it’s a daily posture of trust and devotion. When we love Him with our soul, we find true rest and joy in His presence.
Love the Lord with All Your Mind
Our thoughts are powerful, and they guide our choices. Loving God with all your mind means filling it with truth, letting His Word renew your thinking. It’s learning to align your thoughts with His wisdom and seeing the world through His eyes. As we grow in understanding, our love for Him deepens and becomes more complete.
Even when we fall short—when we’re distracted, careless, or weak—God’s love remains constant. He renews our hearts and teaches us how to love again. Every part of who we are has been made new in Him. As His children, we rejoice not only in being loved but in learning to love in return. Love the Lord, for He first loved you.
