God made Him who knew no sin to be sin on our behalf, so that in Him we might become the righteousness of God. – 2 Corinthians 5:21

What is the thing you most hate to do?

It might be cleaning the oven, or filling out forms, or attending a dance recital. Yet don’t we do these things, and oftentimes joyfully, when they are for someone we love?

Jesus Took on What Was Most Hateful to Him

When Jesus gave His life for us, He carried something that was completely against His very nature—sin. We may never fully understand the depth of this sacrifice or the mystery of how it happened. What we do know is that sin is not just a bad action or mistake. It is the very opposite of God’s goodness, the complete contradiction of His holy character.

The Power of God’s Love in Action

Even though sin was repulsive to Him, Jesus took it upon Himself out of love for us. He bore our guilt and carried our shame. Through His death and resurrection, He showed that sin had been conquered. The power of darkness was broken, and victory was secured.

Sin Defeated, Forgiveness Given

The barrier that once kept us apart from God has been removed. Because of Jesus, we are forgiven, restored, and welcomed into the family of God. Through His sacrifice, we are declared righteous, not by our works but by His grace.

Living in the Joy of His Forgiveness

When we reflect on the weight of what Jesus endured, we are reminded of the depth of His love. He turned what He hated most into the greatest gift we could ever receive—freedom from sin and the promise of eternal life with Him.
