A person’s heart plans their course, but the Lord determines their steps. – Proverbs 16:9

Do you have plans for today, tomorrow, or even the next five years?

Many people will tell you that setting goals and creating strategies is the key to success. It is true that careful planning can be helpful, but for followers of Jesus, there is something even more important to consider. Our plans should always align with God’s will and bring glory to Him.

Aligning Our Goals with God’s Will

There is nothing wrong with making plans, as long as they reflect what we know God desires. His will for us is clear: to love Him and to glorify Him in everything we do. Whenever we make decisions about our future, these two questions should guide us—does this plan honor God, and does it show my love for Him?

God’s Eternal Perspective

God’s plans stretch far beyond what we can imagine. They extend into eternity, yet He still cares deeply about the smallest details of our lives. Every step we take matters to Him. He is not only concerned with the big picture, but with each moment we live and every choice we make.

Walking Step by Step with Jesus

Sometimes we get caught up in wanting to see the whole path ahead. We want to know what will happen in the future and how everything will work out. But the Christian life is not lived all at once—it is lived step by step. Each step we take is an act of faith, showing that we trust Jesus to guide our way.

Trusting God’s Gentle Leading

God could reveal every detail of our journey, but the truth is, it would overwhelm us. Instead, He lovingly leads us one step at a time. As we follow Him in humility and trust, we discover that His way is always good. Step by step, He brings us closer to His purpose and His promises.
