He says, “Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth.” – Psalm 46:10
God is all-powerful, and that truth alone should cause us to stand in awe. His creation and majesty remind us of His greatness. At times, we may even feel small or overwhelmed when we think about the One who made all things. Yet, the beauty of this truth is that the God who holds the universe in His hands also loves us deeply. His presence is not meant to frighten us but to give us comfort and security. He whispers to our hearts, “Be still.”
Letting Go of Worry and Anxiety
We often carry worries about the future, our needs, or even unlikely events that may never happen. Anxiety becomes like a constant noise, drowning out the voice of God. That noise grows into uncertainty, filling us with doubt and uneasiness, as if we are living in the middle of a battle within our own minds.
Finding Peace in God’s Power
In those moments, we need to pause and remember the greatness of our God. He not only has the power to do anything, but He also uses that power to lovingly watch over and protect us. Returning to a place of awe helps us release our fears and find rest in His care.
The Calm of His Love
When we quiet our anxious thoughts, we begin to experience the peace of His love. The almighty Creator of all things cares for us personally and tenderly. That truth should steady our hearts and calm our minds. Stop for a moment and reflect on this: the One who made everything loves you. Be still, and rest in Him.
