The Lord is a refuge for the oppressed, a stronghold in times of trouble. – Psalm 9:9

Fortress. Shelter. Sanctuary. Hideaway. Refuge. Stronghold.

These words capture the deep sense of safety and protection that God offers His children. But have you ever wondered where He actually brings us when we turn to Him? The answer is simple and beautiful: the Lord is our home.

Not a Bunker, But a Home

God is not a distant military base where we wait out life’s battles. He is not a faraway castle where we hide behind stone walls. He is not a bunker where we crouch in fear, hoping the storm will pass. Instead, God Himself is our home. In Him, we find safety and peace, comfort and belonging, love and joy.

What It Means to Dwell in God

When we abide in God, we are embraced by His presence. He is our home, where we are sheltered by the Creator of the universe. He is our home, where we are comforted in times of pain and strengthened in times of weakness. He is our home, where life flourishes, where family gathers, and where His love surrounds us completely.

Go Home to God

When you feel hurt, helpless, or overwhelmed, remember where you belong. When you are troubled, threatened, or unsafe, you do not need to search for escape. Simply go home to the One who never fails, the One who is always waiting for you. Go home to God, your eternal refuge.
